United Way is pleased to have provided  the following grants in 2012

Grants are provided to not-for-profits and charitable organizations throughout the county. $40,000 was provided to support a variety of health and social service programs county-wide in 2012. Grants impact our community by creating opportunities for a better life for everyone in Northumberland.  This past year, this funding was critical for food security, recreation, transportation, health services, and family supports.
 
Community Impact Grants

 

  • Cobourg Dragon Boat & Canoe Club: specialized equipment to make the sport accessible to all
  • Community Care Northumberland: subsidies for transportation to medical appointments
  • Community Food Banks across Northumberland: supports food banks and faith-based groups in 7 municipalities
  • Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre: Youth Prevention Program
  • New Canadians Centre: Migrant Workers Program
  • Rebound Child & Youth Services: Youth Mental Health Summit
  • Rebound / Northumberland Community Counselling Centre’s ONTRAC: supports youth at risk
  • Wraparound Northumberland: supports families and youth
